The Long Now project has had many components. We've created concept cards
that explained the certain topic that connected to the cube. My topic was Quotes and Theories for this concept it was really hard to incorperate math. For two days my partner and I were very confused and didn't know what to do. We asked many questions but when it came to creating the math portion we had to find information on the Roman Empire from rise to fall because the cube explains 4 different stages that civilizations go through. Gathering all the numbers and years was really challenging because many website has different things. But after finding the ones that made the most sense we created our graph on Desmos and incorporated it into our card. But when we put it into IIustator and showed it to our teachers it was too blurry and we had to change the formatting of it on Desmos. We checked with them again but then we had to create our own graph from scratch. My partner and I had to work with nothing and make each different line. The lines were different sizes and the tool didn't want to let us make other lines after making one. For a long while we kept trying to make them. We opened other files to check if it was working and it wasn't working. But then I noticed that the color was transparent. We changed it to black and now we were able to see the different lines and create them. After being able to know where to control the color we were actually able to make each line a different color and make sure each time and population was represented well. We had to go through MISTAKE.LEARN.GROW but when we got our final product we felt an explainable feeling, being able to see something you've been working so hard on is just amazing.
